NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ - Children and their parents gathered at Oakwood Park in New Providence this morning for the New Providence Lions Club’s 45th Annual Easter Egg Hunt. “This is the biggest turnout we’ve had in the past several years,” said Lions member Armand Galluccio.

The event began with attendees congregating in the parking lot. Here, the New Providence Lions gave out candy and green balloons emblazoned with the Lions’ logo. The NP EMS and NP Fire Department were also present. Children enjoyed taking pictures on their trucks.

The Easter Bunny then arrived in a red BMW Z3 3.0i convertible and posed for pictures with the children.

At 9:45, Ted Bratz, Master of Ceremonies and a Lion for over 30 years, called "Go!" The kids stormed the egg hunting ground, which was partitioned into age groups.

All of the eggs – over 2000 – had been found within 15 minutes. The finders of the gold and silver eggs received chocolate bunnies.

New Providence Lions Club President Al Morgan said, “The kids just have a great time. It’s a fun thing we do for the community,” he said. Ted Bratz added, “We’re very proud of what we do for the kids. We look forward to it every year.”

The NP Lions Club thanks the Paca Club for the use of their culinary facilities to prepare the eggs.
