NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ - An evaluation conducted by a local publication gave New Providence High School a grade of "A" for its academic results over a four-year period.
The Inside Jersey public high school ratings published by The Star-Ledger/NJ.com show that New Providence High is one of five public high schools in Union County to achieve the "A" score, based on test scores and data from the New Jersey Department of Education reporting the High School Proficency Assessment results for language arts and math tests among the general population.
Schools were graded from "A" to "D," with Standard Aptitude Test (SAT) scores also weighted in. New Providence had an average SAT of 1742, and its evaluation score of 368.4 was nearly level when compared to its score in the 2008 study.
