NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ - New Providence Chiropractic is helping to raise funds for William Digrande’s wish for the Make a Wish Foundation by holding an open house to patients on May 24.

All adjustments and treatments on May 24 will be in exchange for a minimum donation of $25 to the Make a Wish Foundation of New Jersey.

Digrande was born without a right kidney, and with an 80-degree curve in his spine and fused ribs. His neck was so severely bent it was virtually inseparable from his shoulder. He did, however, have a healthy heart and lungs, but he was instructed to seek special treatment. He and his family flew to Texas in order to be outfitted with a titanium rib implant. It works like a car jack, separating the ribs so the heart and lungs can grow normally.

Will has to fly to Texas twice a year to undergo surgery to adjust the titanium rib implant and strengthen and straighten the spine. It is Will’s wish to be experience the joys of tennis at Wimbledon in 2015.

“The Make-A-Wish Foundation’s mission of granting a sick child’s fondest wish personally inspired me to want to do as much as possible to aid them in their commendable mission. My family endured a personal tragedy with the illness of our nine-year-old niece, Sydney. The miraculous efforts of all of the tireless volunteers at the Make-A-Wish Foundation granted her an incredible experience before she lost her battle with a brain tumor in 2005. Having a wish come true can be an integral part of the healing process for a child battling a life-threatening illness and a wonderful, much needed reprieve for the family,” said Dr. Mark Schlobohm.

New Providence Chiropractic has decided to donate funds to the Make a Wish foundation in order to help sponsor a wish for a Will.

“I’m pleased to give back to the community my services as a thank you for their support for New Providence Chiropractic and the Chiropractic Profession," Schlobohm said. "Clinical research has shown time and time again that chiropractic is often more effective than medical treatment for many conditions including lower back pain, cciatica, disc problems, neck pain and headaches. All this success came without the use of drugs with their side effects and risks of surgery.”
