Remember as a child, marveling at bedtime stories about fairy godmothers and magical genies?  Remember as a teenager wishing you could make your dreams come true?  “Well now you can play a significant and personal role in ensuring that an ill child’s fondest wish will come true,” says Dr. Mark Schlobohm.  Where Dreams Come True is a community-wide effort, sponsored by New Providence Chiropractic, which raises funds to contribute to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of New Jersey’s remarkable mission.  Together, we can act as a magical genie making wishes come true for children of all ages who have been afflicted with a life threatening illnesses.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation of New Jersey is dedicated to improving the quality of life of ill children by creating unforgettable, once in a lifetime experiences for children and their families that may not be able to spend many more tomorrows together.  Wishes have been fulfilled for children diagnosed with severe medical conditions such as cancer, muscular dystrophy, leukemia, AIDS, cystic fibrosis, brain tumors, and heart disease.  Wishes have been granted for so many deserving brave youngsters, yet there are so many more we can help!

“The Make-A-Wish Foundation’s mission of granting a sick child’s fondest wish personally inspired me to want to do as much as possible to aid them in their commendable mission.  My family endured a personal tragedy with the illness of our nine-year-old niece, Sydney. The miraculous efforts of all of the tireless volunteers at the Make-A-Wish Foundation granted her an incredible experience before she lost her battle with a brain tumor in 2005.  Having a wish come true can be an integral part of the healing process for a child battling a life-threatening illness and a wonderful, much needed reprieve for the family,” explains Dr. Schlobohm.

It is because of this unique type of healing that New Providence Chiropractic has decided to sponsor Where Dreams Come True, a community wide effort in order to fulfill the wish of an ill child in our community.  New Providence Chiropractic is offering to all new patients a complimentary first day’s services which includes: case history, chiropractic exam, X-rays (if needed), and report of findings on a subsequent visit (a $420.00 value) in exchange for a minimum donation of $25.00 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of New Jersey during the entire month of September.  “No matter what the wish is, it is important to understand that the benefits of a wish go far beyond the pleasure of that moment.  New Providence Chiropractic is dedicated to helping the Make-A-Wish Foundation create very important memories for sick children and their families,” says Dr. Schlobohm.
