New Members Sworn in at Livingston's Board of Education Reorganization Meeting

LIVINGSTON, NJ - The Livingston Board of Education held a reorganization meeting Monday night to officially recognize the composition of the new Board. Board members Leslie Winograd and Arthur Altman were sworn in. 

Winograd has served on Livingston's BOE for the past three-and-a-half years. Altman is the board's newest member. In his candidate statement, Altman emphasized his financial wherewithal, vowing to keep expenses down while locating new sources of revenue for the District. Altman also mentioned boosting the district's special needs program. Winograd and Altman will serve three year terms.

More than 7,000 Livingston residents voted in the board election. Winograd led all candidates with 2,580 votes, while Altman garnered 2.354 votes. Incumbent Board President Ronnie Spring was denied another term, finishing third with 2,013 votes.

The meeting also featured the official election of new Board President Barry Funt and Vice-President Pamela Chirls.
