New Jersey residents named to Dean’s List - Students recognized for academic achievements at Mount Saint Mary College

The following New Jersey residents were recently honored at Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh, N.Y. for making the fall Dean’s List.
The Dean’s List distinction is awarded each semester to students who have carried at least 12 graded credits with a minimum semester GPA of 3.5.
To further foster scholarly activity and recognize academic achievement, the faculty, upon the recommendation of the Academic Standards Committee, may confer the title of Aquinas Scholar, selected from the junior or senior class, or Ralph Scholar, selected from the sophomore class.
Aquinas and Ralph Scholars have attained a high degree of proficiency in their studies and have demonstrated initiatives and activities that exemplify a sincere commitment to learning at Mount Saint Mary College.
This year’s Aquinas Scholars, named for Thomas Aquinas, a Dominican, include Emily Blew of Columbus, N.J. Aquinas Scholars must have a GPA of at least 3.6. Only 5 percent of a division within a class, or three students per division per class, whichever is larger, may be chosen.
This year’s Ralph Scholars, named for Sr. Mary Vincent Ralph, OP, co-founder of the college and its first academic dean, include Shannon Piro of Cedar Grove, N.J. Ralph Scholars must have a GPA of at least 3.4. Only 5 percent of the class may be chosen.
