Partners in Healing (www.ForHealthAndHealing.com), a new Health and Wellness Center featuring therapeutic massage, will celebrate its Grand Opening at 934 Stuyvesant Avenue, Suite 1, in Union, NJ on Monday, March 4, from 10:00AM to 7:00PM.  The event is free and open to anyone wishing to learn about the health benefits of therapeutic massage.

“I'm trying to increase awareness of the general public about how important therapeutic bodywork is for everyone, young and old, healthy and sick, says Patricia Harris, a licensed massage therapist in NJ who has completed approximately 690 hours of massage training.  “There have been a number of articles written based on studies about the benefits of massage and energy work on people.  Some of the documented benefits of massage include lowering blood pressure, strengthening the immune system and helping to manage pain, stress, PTSD, depression, fibromyalgia, insomnia and anxiety associated with life altering illness or surgery.”

During the Grand Opening, free 15-minute chair massages will be available and light refreshments will be served.  Harris will also offer a 25 percent discount from her regular rates to anyone booking a massage (by appointment only) during the Grand Opening.

Harris has undergone extensive training in a number of different massage therapies since graduating from West Orange High School in 1990.  “I began my career in the medical field in 1997 as an Emergency Medical Technician, which afforded me the opportunity to work in different hospital emergency rooms and provide emergency medical services to local residents,” she says.  “I studied and have certificates in Cancer and Mastectomy Massage taught by author and pioneer of cancer massage, Cheryl Chapman (www.cherylchapman.com).  I studied White Light Reiki under Reiki Master John Mecurio of Advanced Wellness Consultants in Point Pleasant Beach NJ (www.advancedwellnessllc.com).  I am also certified in Basic Pranic Healing, Reflexology, Hot Stone Reflexology, Medical Massage for Headaches and Stress, and Functional Integrated Therapy for sports massage and athletic clients.”
