Literacy Volunteers of Sussex County, the organization which provides free tutoring in English skills,  welcomes four new members to its Board of Directors:  Jack Durkin, Tom McLoughlin, Suzanne Morris,  and  Jen Thompson.

They  bring a range of backgrounds and skills to the organization: sales management, systems management, teaching, expertise in the use of social media for communication.

LVSC’s over 100 volunteers provide free tutoring in English and related skills for adults in Sussex and northern Warren Counties.  Their students are both American-born and  foreign-born.  The tutoring is one-on-one, confidential, and always directed to meet each individual’s specific objectives.  The outcomes---for instance, improved job opportunities, ability to communicate with the rest of the community—are often life-changing for the student and most rewarding to the tutor.

LVSC invites anyone interested in being tutored, and anyone interested in becoming a tutor, to call 973-300-9444 or visit our web site, literacyforyou.org.
