Muslim Group Files Federal Suit on NYPD Surveillance

NEWARK, NJ – A advocacy group filed a federal lawsuit against the New York City Police Department on Wednesday's charging that the surveillance of Islamic businesses and mosques violated Muslims’ civil rights, according to a story on nj.com.
The group, called Muslim Advocates, is seeking a judgment that labels specific surveillance of Muslims based on faith unconstitutional and wants future surveillance based on faith prohibited, the story said.
