MSD To Auction Wide Variety of Items Aug. 21

If you are in the market for a student desk, you’re in luck. Thinking of purchasing a vending machine? We’ve got you covered there, too.

The Methacton School District will hold an auction with such items on Aug. 21 at 5 p.m. for “the purpose of disposing of surplus items.” Scheduled to be held at the District’s maintenance facility, located on the Arcola/Skyview campus, located at 4001 Eagleville Road in Eagleville, the public is invited to attend.

Angela M. Linch, director of communications and community services, said in a recent release that there are a wide variety of things in the auction of school items.

“The sale will consist of equipment and furnishings from all departments, including food service, shop/maintenance equipment, classroom and office furnishings, trucks and vans,” said Linch.

So, what is up for sale?

·      Commercial mixer

·      Hobart slicers

·      Reach-through warmers and chillers

·      Two convotherm/combination ovens (never used, still in crates)

Following the auction of items, several of the district’s vehicles will also be sold. According to Linch, at approximately 6:30 p.m., the following vehicles will be sold:

 

o   1997 Dodge Ram Van, V8, Gas, 2WD, 96,858 miles

o   1996 Chevrolet 3600 Diesel Stake Body Truck, 4WD, Snow Plow, 98,444 miles

o   1992 GMC Diesel 14ft. Box Truck with lift gate

o   1991 Chevrolet Astro Van, gas, 2WD, 117,400 miles

o   Electric Golf Cart

o   Simplicity Riding Mower-Snow Blower with 8ft. Snow Plow

o   DownEaster Truck with Mounted Salt Spreader

o   Loose Metal Items for the scrap dealers

 

Photos of all items available for auction are available here. However, photos are not the only opportunity bidders will have to see the items up for auction.

“Preview is one hour prior to sale,” explained Linch. “Payment [is due] in full on the day of sale, and all sales are absolute.”

Anyone purchasing items must also take their purchases the day of the auction.

“Bidders should come prepared to remove their purchase on the day of sale,” said Linch in the release. “All titles will be transferred on the day of sale. There will be a notary on site for title transfers at buyer's expense.”

Purchases must be made with previously approved checks, with photo identification. No out-of-state checks will be permitted, and cash is preferred. To obtain a bidding number, each bidder must present a photo identification.
