WEST ORANGE, NJ - West Orange lost to Montclair yesterday afternoon, 22-19.  Both teams played well defensively throughout the game.  West Orange stats now stand at 3-5 while Montclair continues its undefeated season.

On West Orange's first possession, Brandon Cowley threw a 20 yard touchdown to receiver Isaiah Scott, making the score 7-0.  In the second quarter, Cowley threw a 50 yard pass to Scott again, and the score was 13-0.  Montclair retaliated and Clarence "CJ" Spears caught a 30 yard touchdown to make the score 13-7.

As the second half began, Cowley threw an 80 yard touchdown pass to Karl Cajuste to increase the West Orange lead to 19-7.  In the third quarter, Mountie quarterback Nate Crutchfield threw a 30 yard pass to Kenny Rosario and the Mounties scored.  The score stood at 19-14.

West Orange pulled out defensive stops on the fourth down several times.  Montclair followed.  Late in the fourth quarter, Montclair drove down the field and scored.  Michael Millian ran in the 6 yard touchdown.  The two point conversion was good, and they took the lead for the first time all day, 22-19.

As West Orange drove on their last possession, an interception from Sears sealed the game as Montclair simply ran out the clock.  It was a hard fought game by both teams.

The Mountaineers will play the Livingston Lancers next week at West Orange High School.
