On Thursday, September 20^th, 2012 at approximately 11:00am, patrols responded to the corner of Mill Street and Swartswood Road for a report of a motor vehicle accident.  Upon arrival at the scene, Officers found that a White Oldsmobile Alero was driven off road near the intersection and was partially in a stream.  No other vehicles were involved.  Investigation provided that the driver, and sole occupant of the vehicle, Rick Sickler, age 48 of Dingman’s Ferry PA, had fallen asleep while operating his vehicle Southbound on Route 519/Mill Street near Swartswood Road.  He then drove off the road. 

Newton First Aid Squad transported Sickler to Newton Medical Center for observation.  Newton Fire Department also responded to the scene.  Sickler was issued a summons for Careless Driving.
