MADISON, NJ - Drew University has signed an agreement with INTO University Partnerships that will increase the number of qualified international students in its community. The first group of approximately 130 students is expected arrive on its campus next fall.

The partnership, INTO New York at Drew University, is expected to allow Drew to build on its history of internationalism both in the Theological School and the College of Liberal Arts. Some 800,000 foreign students are now enrolled in U.S. institutions of higher education. In New Jersey alone, an estimated 9.5 percent of college students hold foreign passports, according to Drew's news release on the INTO partnership.

Drew is the first private, liberal arts university to partner with INTO in the United States, joining INTO partners Colorado State University, Oregon State University, the University of South Florida, Marshall University and George Mason University.

Drew is also INTO’s first partner in the New York City metropolitan area, appealing to students around the world who, according to the Institute of International Education, list New York as one of their top three locations in the United States.
