GREAT BARRINGTON, MA - Former Montclair High School student-athlete, Gabriel 'Gabe' Zimmerman, has earned a place on the dean's list for the 2014 spring semester at Bard College at Simon's Rock. To be eligible for this honor a student must carry 14 or more credits and achieve a grade point average of 3.5.

Zimmerman attended Montclair High School before leaving after 10th grade to start college early.  While a sophomore at Montclair High School, Gabriel Zimmerman earned a place in the Bard College at Simon’s Rock fall 2013 entering class.  Zimmerman also played basketball on the JV team at Montclair High School as well as in the Radiant Suns Basketball Program.

Bard College officials stated, “Zimmerman’s academic and personal achievements secured his spot at Simon’s Rock fall of 2013."  School officials describe the campus in Great Barrington, Massachusetts as home to over 400 bright and highly motivated students engaged in a rigorous college education.  Early college students are on track to graduate from college one or two years ahead of their peers.

“Simon’s Rock receives a number of impressive applications every year,” Jamie Hobba, director of Admission said. “In a highly selective process, Gabriel’s remarkable academic and extracurricular achievements stood out.”  Now that he is entering his second year at Bard College, Zimmerman continues to excel.

His family still resides in Montclair.
