Mitchell Places Sixth to Help Chatham Earn Third at Randolph Invitational

RANDOLPH, NJ - Will Mitchell was the sixth runner to cross in the Division B race, leading the Chatham boys varsity cross-country team to a third-place finish on Saturday night at the Randolph Invitational held under the lights at Freedom Park.
Mitchell finished in 16:40, followed by teammates Dominic Vernazza (12th in 17:11), Grant Hauck (19th in 17:25), Parth Shah (24th in 17:33) and Liam Hynes (34th in 17:51).
"We weren't targeting this meet, so third is really good for us," Chatham coach Pat Barry said.
The JV squad was fourth in the B and C Division race with 111 points. Chatham's top five were: Ben Seitz-Sitek (4th in 18:11), Kevin Gesell (7th in 18:16), Jack Byrd (35th in 19:50), Luke Malanga (41st in 19:59) and Dan Bresnahan (42nd in 20:00).
The freshmen placed third in the B and C Division 1.5 mile race with 91 points. Chris Schneider was 12th in 9:45, followed by Bill Schneider (19th in 10:02), Alec Gonzalez (37th in 10:39), Matt Stasiukevicius (45th in 10:52) and Erik Britt (60th in 11:16).
