Millburn Township Resident, Architect and President of the Millburn-Short Hills Chamber of Commerce, Ileana Martin-Novoa Selected as Finalist for Leading Women Entrepreneurs and Business Owners Award

Township resident Ileana Martin Novoa of Katz/Novoa Architects & Planners and President of the Millburn-Short Hills Chamber of Commerce has been selected as a finalist for the Top 25 Leading Women Entrepreneurs and Business Owners Award by Leading Women Entrepreneurs. The Award is an honor open to the women of New Jersey who have been keeping the small business economic engine going in these troubled times.
Martin-Novoa was selected from hundreds of nominations of women entrepreneurs who are all accomplished and inspiring women making a difference in their companies, industries and communities. The finalists were judged in four areas: Market Potential, Innovation, Advocacy for Women and Community Involvement.
Born in Havana, Cuba, Martin-Novoa grew up between Puerto Rico, Spain and Venezuela. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Science and a Master's Degree in Architecture from the Georgia Institute of Technology. After graduation, Martin-Novoa moved to New Jersey with her husband Jonathan Katz and, after receiving her Professional Architect license in this state, she and Jonathan founded KATZ/NOVOA ARCHITECTS & PLANNERS. At Katz/Novoa, Martin-Novoa serves as the General Managing Partner in charge of the firm's day-to-day operations, including marketing of the firm's services, client relations, project programming and design. Martin-Novoa’s Hispanic background and proficiency with several languages provide her with exceptional communications skills, and are invaluable assets in her ability to understand clients' needs and expectations. Her organizational and spatial abilities and her problem-solving skills are imbued with creativity and a keen sense for the "big picture," allowing her to understand each project's specific nuances.
