Millburn-Short Hills Chamber of Commerce and Hilton Short Hills to Host “Jersey Proud” Winter Gala

The Hilton Short Hills ballroom will be the setting for the “Jersey Proud” Winter Gala on Saturday evening February 9, 2013, starting at 6:30 p.m. The event is being presented by Hilton Short Hills and the Millburn-Short Hills Chamber of Commerce and is intended as a community celebration.
Guests will enjoy dinner, dancing, live music presented by The Jersey Girls and spectacular auctions. Ileana Martin-Novoa, President of the Millburn-Short Hills Chamber of Commerce, has announced that in keeping with the theme of celebrating Millburn-Short Hills, part of the evening’s proceeds will be donated to several organizations including the Burn Center at Saint Barnabas; Downtown Millburn Development Alliance, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary; Investors Foundation; and The Junior League of the Oranges and Short Hills, in honor of its 100th year of service to the community. Additional honorees include: Paper Mill Playhouse Theatre School; Short Hills Association, which is also celebrating its 100th anniversary and the Student/Partner Alliance, celebrating its 20th anniversary as well.
“We are delighted to be continuing the Chamber’s tradition of celebrating local non-profits at our annual Winter Gala. The role of community organizations is key to providing essential services to so many of our friends and neighbors. This event allows us to raise awareness of these organizations and pay tribute to their vital roles”, said Ms. Martin-Novoa.
Martin-Novoa also announced that the Chamber is still accepting auction items to be added to its growing list of exciting prizes that will be on display that evening.
Shoppers will enjoy gift certificates to The Mall at Short Hills as well as gift certificates to a number of the Township’s favorite stores and restaurants. Paper Mill Playhouse will contribute several “Date Night” prizes including theater tickets and dinner.
Festivities begin with a cocktail hour starting at 6:30 p.m. followed by dinner, dancing and culminating in a lively auction. The cost of tickets is $100.00 per person or $950 for a table of ten.
Gala guests who wish to spend the night at The Hilton are being offered a special rate for double occupancy for a standard room. Room reservations can be made directly through the Hilton at 973-379-0100.
