Millburn-Short Hills Arts Center Juried Group Exhibition - Morristown thru Jan 20th

MORRISTOWN, NJ - The Millburn-Short Hills Art Center is proud to announce a group fine art exhibition at the Mayo Performing Arts Center’s “Art Upstairs” Gallery, located at 100 South Street, Morristown, NJ 07960, second floor. This Juried Exhibition consists of 40 works including paintings, drawings, sculpture, photography and other 2D art. The Exhibition is open to the public. Proceeds from sales benefit the Millburn-Short Hills Art Center, the Mayo Performing Arts Center, as well as the individual artists.
“The works featured in this show represent some of the best artistic talent in New Jersey. These artists comprise a variety of ages and ethnicities, and hail from diverse backgrounds. The works include still life, portraits, landscapes, surrealistic and abstract images, sculpture and photography. Each piece is beautiful and compelling in its own way. The Millburn-Short Hills Art Center is both proud and excited to exhibit at the Mayo Performing Arts Center, a premier destination for arts and culture in Northern New Jersey. It’s a wonderful opportunity for individuals and families to enjoy great art while supporting local artists,” MSHAC President Mike Dziomba said.
The “Generations” Exhibition is intended to celebrate the life and work of Janan Weber. Ms. Weber was the founder and original Curator of the Art Upstairs Gallery at the Mayo Performing Arts Center. She served on The Board of Trustees at MPAC and at the Center for Visual Arts in Summit and was also an artist working and studying in various mediums.
The Show was juried by Julie Friedman, PSA, MFA. Ms. Friedman is an accomplished and well-regarded painter and fine artist based in New Jersey. Her choice for winners were announced at the opening reception held Dec. 12, 2013:

Established in1940, the Millburn-Short Hills Arts Center is one of the oldest nonprofit, community-based arts organizations in New Jersey. It was founded to promote art education and appreciation, while encouraging the talent and work of members and other artists. MSHAC provides many opportunities for growth and advancement of local artists, and sponsors art training and education programs for members and the community.
The Mayo Performing Arts Center was established in 1937 and is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Every year, it presents a wide range of community theater and musical performance programs that entertain, enrich, and educate the diverse population and enhance the economic vitality of Northern New Jersey.
