Millburn Police Dispatching Should Be Done By Millburn's Police Department, Not Livingston's
Wednesday, September 12, 2012 • 11:41am
The dispatchers of the Millburn Police Department would like to make the residents aware of a consolidation of their Emergency Services with the Livingston Police Department.
The Millburn Police Dispatchers were advised that as of January 1, 2013 Livingston Police Dispatch would be handling all dispatch services (Police, First Aid and 911) for Millburn/Short Hills. By allowing this, the residents increase the chance of having a closed police department building after hours, on weekends and holidays. It may also affect the ability to walk in freely to seek help with requests or inquiries.
Dispatch believes that the emergency services should be performed here in Millburn/Short Hills for the direct benefit of its residents and businesses. Do the residents really want their emergency services added to another town's already busy call volume?
Can you really put a price on Millburn/Short Hills public safety?
If these are concerns you may have or have any questions, contact your local Township Committee, 973-564-7000 and let them be heard!
