MILLBURN, NJ – Rob Weiss of Short Hills and his business partner Randy Guttenberg of Livingston have been hard at work putting on the finishing touches at Chocolate Works of Millburn which is scheduled to open September 1st, at 321 Millburn Ave, Millburn, NJ.

"It will be a family owned business,” said Randy Guttenberg. “We each have young children and with strong ties to the community we thought Millburn would be an ideal location.”

Rob and Randy’s friendship began long before Chocolate Works when they were Sigma Alpha Mu fraternity brothers in college and have remained close friends ever since. However, Chocolates Works of Millburn isn't just a partnership between friends; it’s a two family business which includes their wives Stacy and Stephanie and their six children.

While Rob and Randy handle the business end of Chocolate Works, their wives Stacy and Stephanie will run the workshops and parties for the kids. They were both instrumental in the personalized touches of the store.

“Our children have become official taste testers,” said Rob Weiss jokingly. “Part of this business is knowing your product and what the customer likes.”

Chocolate Works of Millburn began over a year ago when Rob and Randy met Joe Whaley, owner and CEO of Chocolate Works; at a franchise show in NYC and they were most impressed with the Chocolate Works franchise model.

What sets Chocolate Works apart is its unique 3-tier model for satisfying the public’s sweet tooth. The winning combination of candy and chocolate retail, on-site parties and workshops, and custom corporate products is like nothing ever before seen under one roof.

Chocolate Works of Millburn will offer a wide assortment of candies and chocolates. The store will sell a variety of chocolate covered items, including chocolate covered, pretzels, cookies, marshmallows, graham crackers, and fruit. The store will also host chocolate themed birthday parties and workshops for budding chocolatiers.

For corporate clients, Chocolate Works can make customized molds as well as chocolate business cards and other items. They also make favors and molded items like cars, sports balls, bunnies, Christmas trees and turkeys.

For Randy Guttenberg, you might say this business runs in the family. His grandparents owned Scotty’s, a candy store with a wet fountain in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn where they made egg cream sodas, malts and ice cream sundaes. His parents owned 3 G’s Luncheonette in Forest Hills, Queens where there was an assortment of candy.
