MILLBURN, NJ - After over a year of negotiations, an agreement was reached last night at a fact-finding session between negotiators from the Millburn Board of Education and the Millburn Education Association (MEA.)
According to Board President Michael Birnberg, a “Memorandum of Understanding” was signed by both parties at the end of a four-hour mediation.
Resolution of the contract talks was confirmed by Lois Infanger, President of the MEA, who writes, “There was an agreement signed late last night. Details must be shared with the membership and ratification must occur… Actions have been suspended.”
The two-person Negotiating Committee Mark Zucker and Sam Levy, along with Birnberg, represented the BOE at the meeting.
Birnberg feels this is a “good, fair, realistic settlement.” He adds that the terms are consistent with those of an agreement earlier in the school year with district administrators (MASA.)
