Mike Skara, NYC Marathon Participant, Pacing for Cancer Survivor

NEW YORK, NY - Mike Skara, Technology Coordinator for the Berkeley Heights Public School District, is running the ING New York City Marathon Sunday as a volunteer pacer for Achilles International. Skara will be pacing for David Poole, a cancer survivor from New Zealand.
Skara has been pacing races since 2000, primarliy at the New Jersey Marathon. This NYC Marathon will be his 15th time pacing. He recently completed the Mohawk Marathon with a personal record of 3:22:06.
"Very few things are better than helping someone achieve a difficult goal. It gives me a chance to give back to the sport that has been so great to me," said Skara of why he became a volunteer pacer.
