MADISON, NJ - The live music of Group Therapy rocked the night away last Thursday, teaming up with Quest Diagnostics employees and Rocco’s Tuscany Bar and Grill to support the American Cancer Society.
The event was open to kids of all ages to help support the cause. Some Quest Diagnostic employee musicians joined Group Therapy on stage to entertain a “sing-along” type of crowd.
Rocco’s Tuscany Bar and Grill offered customers who made a $10 donation to ‘Making Strides Against Breast Cancer’, free antipasto and stromboli with a discount on beverages and the entire food menu. All proceeds were donated to the American Cancer Society.
Mayor Robert Conley and Tom Bongiorno, Corporate Controller and Chief Accounting Officer of Quest Diagnostics shared their heartfelt thoughts about the community of Madison extending their thanks to all those who participated in the event. They both recognized how efforts like these make a huge difference when everyone continually pulls together.
“It’s almost overwhelming," said Tom Bongiorno. "Your collaboration means a lot.”
In addition to this event, Quest Diagnostics' Makenzie Cox, who was present at Rocco’s, is this year's QuestCares Team Captain. In continuing the fight against cancer, Makenzie will lead QuestCares in its goal to raise $30,000 and have 150 walkers on Oct. 20 at the Parsippany Making Strides walk.
The name 'Michele's Cancer Crusaders' was born in memory of Makenzie's mom who was a Quest colleague. Michele Cox walked with the team last year as Executive Champion.
This is Quest’s tribute to Makenzie’s mom, their colleague, and for all those lost, for all those who have won and for all those who are or will be fighting.
