Mendham Township Police Make Noteworthy Arrest for Drugs

Mendham Township. NJ- On July 17, 2013, Mendham Township Police Patrolman, Jason Morrison, stopped a 2011 KIA on Ascot Lane, for failure to maintain the lane. Tyler Cox, 25, of Randolph N.J., was operating the vehilce and Ptl. Morrison detected an odor of marijuana coming form the vehicle. Voluntary consent was given to search the vehicle and it was found that over 50 grams of marijuana, a digital scale and a metal marijuana grinder to be in the vehicle. The Morris County Canine Unit was then called to the scene to assist in the investigation. Mr. Cox was placed under arrest and then transported back to MTPD HQ for processing. He was charged with posession of over 50 grams of marijuana, posession with intent to distribute marijuana and posession of drug paraphenalia. A summons was also issued for failure to maintain lane, posession odfCDS in a motor vehicle and driving while suspended. Mr. Cox was released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in the Morris County Superior Court in July 2013.
