SUMMIT, NJ - Chris Meier, Summit High School (SHS) Class of 2010, recently suffered a severe leg injury in a freak accident  at Syracuse University, resulting in the partial amputation of his right leg.

Meier is the son of Terry and Rob Meier, and the brother of Kevin Meier, SHS Class of 2013. Terry Meier is one of the Summit Performing Arts Resource Committee's and Summit Music Parents Association's most willing volunteers, spending countless hours on set, building and painting over the past five years.

Kevin Meier was also a Marching Band and percussion ensemble member before he graduated from SHS in 2013.

All proceeds from the May 21 Spring Concert I bake sale at the high school will go directly to a fund created to help defray the significant medical costs the Meier family will have to bear over the next year.

In addition, interested parties can make an online donation to the "Jersey Strong!" fund, created by friends and fraternity brothers of Chris Meier.
