MAPLEWOOD, NJ – The week will begin with the observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, followed by Township Committee meeting and more.
Monday, January 20:
2 - 5 p.m. - The South Orange/Maplewood Community Coalition on Race Presents Martin Luther King, Jr. Observance & Volunteer Fair at Oheb Shalom Congregation, Scotland Road, South Orange. The speaker is the renowned Dr. William Howard of Bethany Church in Newark. On this anniversary of the March on Washington, we will present a reenactment of Dr. King’s speech by nationally acclaimed performer and South Orange resident Kenny Vaughan, along with jazz performances, Voices In Harmony, and the CHS Special Dance Company. Volunteer Fair to follow.
Tuesday, January 21:
7:30 p.m. - Maplewood Township Committee Meeting at the Municipal Building (574 Valley Street)
Wednesday, January 22:
3:30 p.m. - Maplewood Health Department Adult Health Clinic at the Hilton Branch Library.
Thursday, January 23:
9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Associated Humane Society Dog and Cat Society Low Cost Spay/neuter Clinic at Town Hall (574 Valley Street). Must have an appointment for spay/neuter. Call 973-824-7080 x118 or 121.
7:30 p.m. – Special screening of the documentary film, “From Fatherless to Fatherhood” at the Tuscan School Library.
