Man Shot Tuesday Night During 1st Ward Robbery

PATERSON, NJ – A man was shot in the leg late Tuesday night in the 1st Ward after he was robbed at gunpoint walking to his car, police said.
The victim told authorities he was approaching his vehicle at about 10:30 pm near the corner of Matlock Street and Christopher Columbus Drive when three men emerged, including one carrying a revolver, and robbed him.
After giving the suspects his cash, the victim tried to flee, but the gunman fired at him, wounding him in the left leg, police said. The victim is undergoing treatment at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center.
The investigation is continuing at this time, police said.
