PATERSON, NJ - A 26-year-old city resident was shot in the right arm early Tuesday morning in what Paterson police are speculating was "a targeted incident."
According to Lt. Patrick Murray of the Paterson Police Ceasefire Unit, the male victim arrived at St. Joseph's Medical Center by private vehicle at 2:30 a.m. with a gunshot wound to his right arm. The shooting occurred at around 2:20 a.m. on East 26th Street between 17th and 18th avenues, near the victim's residence.
The victim, who was reported to be in stable condition Tuesday morning, was transported to the hospital by a friend.
"The shooting appears to be a targeted incident, but the motive is not clear at this time," Murray said.
