Man Attacked With Gun After Complaining About Noise

PATERSON, NJ - A 24-year-old city man was hit in the back of the head with a gun Monday morning when he went outside his 1st Ward home to complain about someone making noise, police said.

The victim was sleeping at about 5:30 am when the noice woke him up, police said. He went outside, near the corner of Kearny Street and Union Avenue, to the tell the offender to quiet down.

But instead of getting peace, he was hit with the gun, which cut his head, police said.

Authorities have identified the suspect as a man about 30 years old known on the streets as "Pinky.'' Lt. Richard Reyes said authorities were still looking to confirm his real name.

The victim was treated and released at the hospital.
