June is ADOPT-A-CAT-MONTH at shelters across the nation, and St. Hubert’s is celebrating the month and promoting cats hoping for homes with fee-waived cat adoptions for cats one year and older until the end of June. People are welcomed to the shelters—in Madison at 575 Woodland Avenue and in North Branch at 3201 Route 22 East— to select the cat of their
choice Sun.-Tues. 12-4 and Wed.-Sat. 12-6. “Our normal adoption fee for cats is $150—established to help us offset some of the costs incurred in getting the cats ready to go to their new homes,” said RayLynn Bradigan, Director of Animal Welfare Operations. “During June we are offering fee-waived adoptions to help encourage loving families to welcome new feline family members into their homes.”
Why June? June is “kitten season” when shelters quickly reach capacity and must prepare for the busy summer months ahead. St. Hubert’s currently has 380 cats in its care, 47 of them temporarily residing with foster care volunteers, all of them awaiting permanent placement.
All cats are vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped and spayed/neutered prior to placement. Any individual medical needs are resolved before they are offered for adoption. Each one goes off to his or her new home with a safety collar, I.D. tag and a bag food. June is a great time to add a feline member to the family—in addition to helping the individual cat, adopters help the shelter keep pace with the burgeoning numbers and will find an amazing array of beautiful animals, both in appearance and personality types. “We can guarantee that whatever people are looking for in their feline friends, they’ll find their perfect match at St. Hubert’s,” added Bradigan.
St. Hubert’s also has cats available for adoption Petco East Hanover, Petco Milltown, Petsmart Flemington, PetValu Flemington, PetValu Branchburg, and PetValue Madison.
