MADISON, NJ - With another winter storm bearing down on Morris County, Madison Schools Superintendent Michael Rossi reaffirmed his commitment not to alter the school calendar for the rest of the year, despite having expended all of the district's allotted snow days.

The district has already used four days in February.

“My recommendation is that we do not change the calendar,” Rossi said at Tuesday night's Board of Education meeting. “There would be no continuity of instruction and the calendar in place was made for a reason.”

Three built-in snow days are included. Any other changes would come from the April break and possibly holding classes the Friday before Memorial Day, which is a work day for teachers, but not students.

A Winter Storm Warning is in effect from midnight Wednesday until Friday morning for snow that could accumulate to as much as 10 to 14 inches, making it likely that Madison schools would be closed on Thursday.
