Madison Police Deal with 3 Domestic Violence Cases in Last 3 Weeks

On May 21, 2014, Ptl Luis Gonclaves arrested 31 year old Gregory Dorsey of Madison, NJ. Goncalves, along with Ptl Anthony Maccario, responded to Dorsey’s Madison address upon request of the Lincoln Park Police Department. According to the Lincoln Park Police, an arrest warrant was issued by their Municipal Court in the amount of $15,000. Dorsey was located at his residence and was arrested on the strength of the warrant. He was then taken into custody by the Lincoln Park Police in lieu of bail.

 

On May 26, 2014 at approximately 2:30pm, Detective Kenneth Shannon arrested 31 year old Jason McNerney of New Providence, NJ. McNerney was arrested earlier in the day by the Summit Police Department on the strength of an active Madison Municipal warrant in the amount of $500. After being taken into custody by the Madison Police, McNerney was then transferred over to the Morris County Correctional Facility pending a court appearance.

 

On May 27, 2014 at approximately 2:00pm, Ptl Luis Goncalves arrested 22 year old Josue Quesada of Summit, NJ. Goncalves stopped Quesada’s vehicle for an alleged moving violation and determined that there was an active warrant for his arrest issued by the Springfield Municipal Court in the amount of $500. Following the arrest, a family member of Quesada responded to Madison Police Headquarters and posted bail. Quesada was issued a summons for speeding and was released pending a court appearance.

 

On May 30, 2014 at approximately 10:45pm, Ptl Vincent Dellavalle arrested 56 year old Michael Lester of Denville, NJ. While on patrol, Dellavalle was flagged down by a citizen who reported that an alleged assault had just taken place. Dellavalle located both the suspect and the victim involved in the incident. During the investigation, Dellavalle determined that Lester allegedly had struck his adult daughter in the face during an argument. Lester was charged with Simple Assault and was released on his own recognizance pending a court appearance.

 

On June 1, 2014 at approximately 1:00am, Ptl Christopher Williams arrested 19 year old Zachary Stern of Madison, NJ. Williams stopped Stern’s vehicle for an alleged equipment violation. During the investigation, Williams detected an odor of alcoholic beverage emanating from Stern’s breath. Williams conducted field sobriety tests and determined that Stern was allegedly operating the vehicle while impaired. Stern was charged with Driving Under the Influence of alcohol and failure to utilize his headlamps at night. He was released to a family member pending a court appearance.

 

On June 3, 2014 at approximately 10:30pm, Sgt Sean Plumstead arrested 36 year old Ginson Guaman of Madison, NJ. Plumstead, along with Ptl Anthony Maccario and Ptl Christopher Williams, responded to Guaman’s residence on report of a disturbance. During the investigation, it was determined that Guaman allegedly struck his girlfriend during an argument. Guaman was charged with Simple Assault and was released on his own recognizance pending a court appearance.

 

On June 4, 2014 at approximately 3:30am, Ptl Christopher Williams arrested 37 year old Seun Ogunmefun of Madison, NJ. While on patrol, Williams was flagged down by a female motorist in distress. The female had a visible injury to her face and alleged that she had just been in an argument with her husband who had left their home on foot. After a search of the area, Ogunmefun was located at the Shell Gas Station where he was placed under arrest. He was charged with Simple Assault and was released on his own recognizance pending a court appearance.

 

On June 5, 2014 at approximately 10:00pm, Sgt James Cavezza arrested 23 year old Shomari Hohn of Morristown, NJ. Cavezza stopped Hohn’s vehicle for an alleged suspicious incident. During the investigation, it was determined that there was an active warrant for Hohn’s arrest from the Elmwood Park Municipal Court in the amount of $300. He was arrested on the strength of the warrant and he posted bail. Hohn was released pending a court appearance.

 

On June 6, 2014 at approximately 5:00pm, Ptl. Bart Glab arrested 50 year old Marc Anderson of Madison, NJ. Anderson responded to police headquarters after being notified of an active warrant for his arrest from the Madison Joint Municipal Court in the amount of $290. He posted bail and was released on his own recognizance pending a court appearance.

 

On June 11, 2014 at approximately 5:30pm, Ptl Matthew Mirabella arrested 21 year old Timothy Rabel of Madison, NJ. While on patrol, Mirabella conducted a random license plate look up of a vehicle being operated by Rabel. Mirabella determined that the registration of the vehicle was allegedly suspended and that there was an active warrant for Rabel’s arrest issued by the Madison Joint Municipal Court in the amount of $190. Rabel was arrested and immediately appeared before Judge Troxell who was holding court at the time of the arrest. An arrangement was made and Rabel was released on his own recognizance. He was issued a summons for operating a vehicle with a suspended registration. A court appearance is pending for the offense.

 

On June 12, 2014 at approximately 5:30 pm, Ptl. Bart Glab arrested 19 year old Matthew Owen of Bloomingdale, NJ. Glab responded to the campus of Drew University along with Ptl Stephanie Corrao on report of a student in custody for an alleged drug related incident. Owen was allegedly found to be in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Owen was charged with possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released on his own recognizance pending a court appearance.

 

On June 13, 2014 at approximately 1:00am, Ptl Bart Glab arrested 22 year old Robert Gelosa of Cedar Knolls, NJ. Glab stopped Gelosa’s vehicle for an alleged moving violation. During the investigation, Glab detected an odor of alcoholic beverage emanating from Gelosa’s breath. Glab conducted field sobriety tests and determined that Gelosa was allegedly operating the vehicle while impaired. Gelosa was charged with Driving Under the Influence of alcohol, Driving Under the Influence of alcohol within a school zone, careless driving and failure to maintain lane. He was released on his own recognizance pending a court appearance.

 

On June 13, 2014 at approximately 10:00 am, Ptl Luis Goncalves arrested 26 year old Stephanie Mastrobattista of Bernardsville, NJ. Goncalves stopped Mastrobattista’s vehicle for an alleged moving violation. During his investigation, Goncalves detected an odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle. Further investigation determined that Mastrobattista was allegedly in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. She was charged with possession of under 50 grams of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of CDS in a motor vehicle, and use of a cell phone without a hands free device. Mastrobattista was released on her own recognizance pending a court appearance.

 

 

The following are some of the calls for service that the Madison Police Department handled during the past three weeks: 38 Motor Vehicle Crashes, 79 Medical Calls, 43 Alarm Calls, 41 Animal Complaints, 37 Assist Citizen Calls, 19 Motor Vehicle Lockouts, and 18 Calls to assist another Police Agency.

 

All defendants are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
