On 10/23/12 at approximately 12:30pm, Sgt. Sean Plumstead arrested 28 year old Bekim Berisha of Linden, NJ. Plumstead stopped Berisha’s vehicle for displaying an expired inspection sticker. A check of Berisha’s driver’s license revealed an active warrant in the amount of $500 from Clark Municipal Court which had been issued for Berisha’s arrest. Berisha was arrested on the strength of the warrant and he was transported to Madison Police Headquarters for processing. Berisha posted his own bail and was released pending a mandatory court appearance.
On 10/26/12 at approximately 8:30pm, Patrolman Chad Rybka arrested 46 year old Stephen Whitehorn of Madison, NJ. Rybka was detailed to Amici’s Restaurant on Park Avenue on report of a suspicious intoxicated male at the establishment. When Rybka arrived on scene, he observed Whitehorn leaning on his vehicle for support, unable to stand on his own. While speaking with Whitehorn, Rybka detected the odor of alcoholic beverage emanating from his breath. Rybka conducted field sobriety tests on Whitehorn. After performing sobriety tests, Whitehorn was arrested and charged with Driving Under the Influence of an alcoholic beverage. He was released into the care and custody of his wife pending a mandatory court appearance.

All defendants are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
