On 9/28/2012 at approximately 9:14 p.m. Patrolman Matthew Mirabella arrested 21 year old Stephone Hines of Roselle N.J. He charged him with possession of marijuana. Ptl. Mirabella was contacted by Drew University Public Safety Officer Flora who stopped Hines while on campus and determined that Hines was in possession marijuana. He was transported to headquarters for processing. After processing he was released pending a mandatory court appearance.
On 9/28/2012 at approximately 11:31 Patrolman Matthew Mirabella arrested 32 year old Christopher Gardner of Maplewood N.J. He charged him with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Ptl Mirabella was contacted by Drew University Public Safety Officer Goldate who stopped Gardner for driving erratic while on campus and discovered he was in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was transported to headquarters for processing. After processing he was released pending a mandatory court appearance.
On 9/28/2012 at approximately 9:38 p.m. Patrolman Matthew Mirabella arrested 21 year old Carlos Sanchez of North Plainfield N.J. and 21 year old Renndon Browne of Plainfield N.J. He charged them both with possession of marijuana. Ptl. Mirabella was contacted by Drew Public Safety Officers Goldate and Traynor who discovered Sanchez and Browne in possession of marijuana after being stopped at the front security gate. They were both transported to headquarters for processing, after processing they were released pending a mandatory court appearance.
On 9/29/2012 at approximately 1:37 a.m. Patrolman Matthew Mirabella arrested 19 year old William Cox of Roselle N.J. He charged him with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Ptl. Mirabella was contacted by Drew Public Safety Officer Celoaliaj who stopped Cox while walking in the hallway of a dorm. He determined that he was in possession of marijuana. He was transported to headquarters for processing. After processing he was released pending a mandatory court appearance.
On 9/30/2012 at approximately 12:55 a.m. Patrolman Matthew Mirabella arrested 52 year old Fernando Valdezramirez of Madison N.J. He charged him with driving while under the influence. Ptl. Mirabella initially stopped Valdezramirez on Main Street near Samson Avenue for a speeding violation. He determined that he was operating his vehicle under the influence of alcohol. He was taken to headquarters for processing. After processing he was released to a family member pending a mandatory court appearance. He was also issued a motor vehicle summons for speeding.
On 9/30/2012 at approximately 2:11 a.m. Patrolman Joseph Longo arrested 22 year old Gabrella Rutty of Orange N.J. He charged her with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Ptl. Longo was contacted by Drew University Public Safety Officer Lamana who had stopped Rutty while parked on campus. He determined that she was in possession of marijuana and paraphernalia. She was taken to headquarters for processing. After processing she was released pending a mandatory court appearance.
The Madison Police Department, Fire Department, and Volunteer Ambulance Corps responded to approximately 22 medical emergencies.
Madison Police Department investigated 12 motor vehicle crashes during the week.
All defendants are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
