On 9/22/2012 at approximately 4:28 p.m. Patrolman Paul Papamarkos arrested 60 year old Daniel Bergeron of Convent Station N.J. He charged him with shoplifting. Ptl. Papamarkos was called to Stop & Shop by the store manager who reported that Bergeron had just left the store without paying for several items. After a field investigation by Ptl. Papamarkos he determined that he had shoplifted the items. He was transported to headquarters for processing. After processing he was released pending a mandatory court appearance.

On 9/26/2012 at approximately 5:09 a.m. Patrolman Matthew Mirabella  arrested 18 year old Grace Reilly of Long Valley N.J. He charged her with driving under the influence. Ptl. Mirabella stopped Reilly for a speeding violation on Madison Avenue. He determined that she was operating her vehicle under the influence of alcohol. Also arrested was 21 year old Amy Rowe of Butler N.J. who was a passenger in Reilly’s vehicle, She was charged with having an open alcohol container in a motor vehicle, and providing alcohol to an under age person. They were both transported to headquarters for processing, after processing they were released to a friend pending a mandatory court appearance.

The Madison Police Department, Fire Department, and Volunteer Ambulance Corps responded to approximately 18 medical emergencies.

Madison Police Department investigated 10 motor vehicle crashes during the week.

All defendants are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
