Madison Police Arrest Chatham Woman for Driving Under the Influence

On 2/8/2012 at approximately 11:02 p.m. Sgt. Dennis Lam arrested 40 year old Tamara Melo of Chatham Township N.J. He charged her with driving under the influence. Sgt. Lam initially stopped Melo for a speeding violation on Green Avenue. He determined she was operating her vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. She was taken to headquarters for processing. After processing she was released to a friend. She was also issued a summons for speeding.
On 2/10/2012 at approximately 8:34 a.m. Patrolman James Cavezza arrested 31 year old Denise Daiuto of Whippany N.J. on the strength of a $127.00 dollar traffic arrest warrant issued by Annandale Municipal court. Ptl. Cavezza initially stopped Daiuto on Woodland Road for an expired inspection sticker. After a field interview he determined that she was wanted by Annandale for failure to appear and was operating her vehicle with a suspended driver’s license. She was taken to headquarters for processing. After processing she was released after posting bail pending a mandatory court appearance.
The Madison Police Department, Fire Department, and Volunteer Ambulance Corps responded to approximately 20 medical emergencies.
Madison Police Department investigated 8 motor vehicle crashes during the week.
All defendants are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
