On Thursday Nov. 21 at 6 p.m. and Friday Nov. 22 and Sat. Nov. 23 at 7 p.m., Madison High School presents the fall drama, Midsummer Jersey. Admission is $10, $8 for students at the door.

Written by Ken Ludwig, Midsummer Jersey is a modern take on Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream set against the backdrop of the Jersey Shore.

The play takes place at the Jersey Shore on a night when the lines between Fairy Land and the land of mere mortals are blurred. It follows the stories of three different groups of people as they weave on and off of the board walk and in and out of each other's lives. From love triangles of teens to the bickering old married couple of Titania and Oberon, the world of fairies begins to bleed over into our world when the mischievous Puck creates a love spell that affects both fairies and mortals alike. A troop of hair stylists turned budding thespians rehearsing a play on the beach round out the craziness. Those familiar with William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream will find both his dialogue and the heart of his characters as this classic tale plays out in our very own Jersey Shore.
