MADISON, NJ - The Madison Lady Dodgers defeated the Bayonne Bees on Thursday night, Oct. 11, 2-0 in girls varsity volleyball, in front of a home crowd.
Madison’s Head Coach Steve Fenton said that “they knew nothing about” Bayonne coming into the game. The Bees entered with a record of 12-2, which indicated the Lady Dodgers would be in for a fight. However, it was not to be.
Madison’s only true threat from Bayonne was number 7, Amanda Borges, an outside hitter who had most of the kills for Bayonne. Other than Borges, Bayonne did have some good plays but they often over- or under-served.
Madison Co-Captain Madeline Watson said that playing Bayonne, “was fun” and that the Bees were competitive in the match.
Madison's Kelly Quinn, a junior, had three aces in the game and received eight serving points. Along with Quinn’s points, Fennelly was able to complete five kills and had two aces.
