MADISON, NJ - The 14-1 Lady Dodgers entered Wednesday's volleyball game against the Knights of Morris Catholic and came away with a 25-6, 25-18 victory.
Madison took control of the game early with numerous back-to-back points in the first set. The Dodgers took care of the first set rather easily only allowing 6 points, defeating the Knights 25-6.
After the first set, it appeared that the Dodgers would take the second game handily, as well. The Dodgers appeared ready for an early night when they took a 12-point lead, 15-3.
However, several unforced errors and a few careless plays by the Dodgers allowed the Knights back into the game, making the second set a close contest. The Knights rallied back from the 12 point deficit and cut the Dodgers' lead to four, 19-15.
Several impressive serves by junior Kelly Quinn then crushed the Knights' hope of a comeback.
“It was clear that Kelly was on her serving game today,” said Senior Captain Jen Vorel.
Quinn recorded 10 aces and 18 serve points during Tuesday's match.
The Dodgers finished the second set over Morris Catholic 25-18.
“Despite a bad second half during the second set, we were able to finish strong and get the win,” stated Senior Captain Kayla Fennelly.
Fennelly helped lead the Dodgers to victory, recording 4 kills.
The Dodgers are now 15-1 on the season and next face Morristown Beard on Friday.
