Montgomery Township's William F. Maule Park at Windlestrae has a chance to benefit from as much as $250,000 in donations thanks to Macy's.
Windlestrae Park was selected for Macy's "Heart Your Park" program as part of its "Secret Garden" fundraising campaign, according to Montgomery Township Public Information Coordinator Kelsey McMeans.
From now to March 31, shoppers at Macy's in Montgomery Mall can donate $1 or more to Windlestrae Park. All proceeds from the program will go to the Montgomery Township park. Macy's will match all donations up to $250,000.
Money will be used to rehabilitate the park, maintain trails, improve playgrounds and the like.
Windlestrae Park is one of 550 parks in the United States benefitting from the Macy's campaign. According to a press release, Macy's has partnered with the National Recreation and Park Association in the campaign. Each Macy's store selected a local park or green space to benefit from "Heart Your Park."
"We are thrilled to partner with Macy's and NRPA for 'Heart Your Park' this spring," said Montgomery Township Recreation Coordinator Sharon Tucker in a press release. "Through this wonderful program and donations by Macy's customers, Windlestrae Park will gain additional funding and visibility as the wonderful township asset it is. We greatly appreciate Macy's support."
