Macaroni Kid, a free hyper-local weekly e-newsletter and website that highlights events and activities for families in the community, is celebrating one year in Westfield, Springfield, Cranford, Scotch Plains and the surrounding area. Under the stewardship of Donna Oshri, a local mom, Macaroni Kid has become a go-to source for all things family.
“The mission behind Macaroni Kid remains the same now as it was when I started publishing a year ago,” explains Oshri, “to save parents time and help keep families busy.”
“Quality time together is important to families, but as a mom, I know how difficult it is to keep track of the fun and enriching events and activities available for kids. Macaroni Kid is where parents can find out about the many fun and enriching events and activities that are available locally,” Oshri said.
“I have been so impressed with the multitude of events and programs for families in the Westfield, Springfield, Cranford, Scotch Plains and surrounding communities, and many of them are low cost or even free,” said Oshri. “We live in a great community and I hope Macaroni Kid helps highlight that.”
Macaroni Kid covers the spectrum of things to do with kids -- classes, shows, events as well as things to do at home, cooking projects, book reviews, arts and crafts and more. Many giveaways are also offered.
According to Oshri, “The growth of Macaroni Kid newsletters/websites across the country has been staggering, with more than 500 editions nationwide.” Macaroni Kid also publishes several national editions based on topics of interest to parents including; Family Travel, Safety, Pregnancy & Baby’s First Year, Food and Nutrition and more.
Macaroni Kid Westfield/Springfield/Cranford/Scotch Plains also covers Union, Kenilworth, Fanwood, Clark, Mountainside, Garwood, North Plainfield, Plainfield, and Watchung.
