Lunch & Learn At Whole Foods Market

This workshop will focus on the key elements of Positive Psychology from the book Flourish by M. Seligman (Free Press, NY 2011) which include Positive Emotion, Engagement, Relationships, Meaning and Accomplishment. Cara will discuss the physical and mental health benefits of increasing optimism in your life as well as provide ways in which you can re-focus on your strengths and increase your happiness each day. About Cara Maksimow, LCSW, CPC A warm, supportive coach and listener, Cara is dedicated to helping others successfully navigate through times of stress and challenge. Cara specializes in supportive positive therapy for life and work transitions, depression, anxiety and managing disease. Her approach focuses on collaboration, problem solving, goal setting, identification of strengths and increasing resiliency. Cara truly enjoys helping others be and feel their best and has a natural ability to coach and connect with people. Cara’s career began at an inpatient psychiatric hospital unit in 1992, working with multiple mental health issues including anxiety and depression, drug addiction, and schizophrenia, both as a Clinician and Clinical Supervisor. She completed her Master's in Social Work (MSW) in 1996 and Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in 1998. In 2000, she brought her skills to the pharmaceutical industry where she partnered with physicians to identify appropriate pharmacological treatment options. She possesses a high level of understanding of disease and pharmacological disease management. Cara spent the majority of her corporate career as a Sales Manager and Trainer, helping her teams achieve success and coaching them through critical challenges including downsizing, product recalls and Health Care Reform. Cara attributes her success to building relationships and helping people maximize their strengths. Cara earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Rutgers University and her MSW from Columbia University. She also holds a certificate in Professional Coaching.
