The Livingston Police Department will hold the community’s fifth National Night Out on Tuesday, August 6th at the Memorial Oval. The annual event begins at 5:30 pm with an opening ceremony at the gazebo.  To begin the ceremony, the national anthem will be sung by Lauren Magsaysay, a 2013 graduate of Livingston High School and “God Bless America” will be sung by the Livingtones.  The police department will also be recognizing the Crime Prevention Community Member of the year.

Livingston’s event is generously supported by donations from Investors Bank, Quick Mart, Livingston Bagel and Gerard “Junior” DaSilva.
There is still time for children to enter the poster contest.  The deadline is July 31, 2013 at 4:00 p.m.  This year’s poster contest will be judged by Martha Ackerman from the Arts Council of Livingston.  Complete information and rules can be found at: livingstontownship.org/police/departments/community-policingd-a-r-e/national-night-out

There will be displays from various local organizations and businesses including Livingston Junior Lancer Lacrosse League, ADAPT of Essex County, American Red Cross, Livingston HCHY, Grace Lutheran Church and Trinity Covenant Church.  Any organization or local business that would like to have a free display table at the event is asked to call the Community Policing Unit at (973) 992-3000 extension #3600.
In case of rain, the event will be held inside Livingston High School.
