Lots for Teens to do this January at the Scotch Plains Public Library
Friday, December 7, 2012 • 8:04pm
A busy month has been planned for the teen patrons, grades 6 through 12, at the Scotch Plains Public Library.
A Teen Matinee will take place on Monday, January 7 at 3:30pm. Our Teen Advisory Board has selected eight possible movies; ballots are available in the library so teens can vote for which movie they’d like to watch. Snacks will be provided.
On Tuesday, January 15 at 3:30 pm, teens can join their friends and enjoy snacks at Teen Scene, where they can play Wii, Nok-Hockey and other games.
CREATE-it with Christina will take place on Tuesday, January 22 at 3:30 pm. Each month, Christina demonstrates how to turn generic household items into cool and crafty art. Registration is preferred for this program, to ensure that there are enough materials, but walk-ins are welcome.
On Wednesday, January 30 at 3:30 pm, teens can compete against their friends in Wii Dance Dance Revolution and enjoy snacks.
Teens in grades 7 through 12 are welcome to join our Teen Advisory Board. The board helps plan events, organizes book displays and has a book club. The next meeting will take place on Monday, January 14 at 4:00 pm.
These programs are free and open to all interested teens. Attendees are encouraged to register through the library’s website: http://www.scotlib.org or by phone: 908-322-5007, x.204 or e-mail library@scotlib.org .
The Scotch Plains Library is located at 1927 Bartle Avenue, one block from Park Avenue in the center of town.
