WARREN, NJ - Volunteers from Warren and Bridgewater are hosting a dinner and fundraising event on Saturday, March 15, to benefit an upcoming mission trip to Appalachia.
The March 15 event, at the Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church, 42 Liberty Corner Road, Warren, will have two seatings at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults, $8 for children 10-years-old and under. For reservations, visit www.mthorebumcwarren.org or call (732)356-1217.
The evening will feature a buffet of roast turkey, country ham, mashed potatoes and gravy, seasonal vegetables, homemade cornbread with honey butter, salad, peach cake and beverages.
All proceeds from this event will help send supplies and volunteers from Warren and Bridgewater to join the Appalachia Service Project in Tennessee this summer. ASP volunteers will work hands-on with families to make their homes safer, drier and warmer. This is the second such trip for volunteers from Mt. Horeb UMC. Last year, the team spent a week repairing homes in a remote mountain area of West Virginia. For more on ASP, visit www.asphome.org.
Founded in 1824, Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church is among Warren’s oldest churches. Its membership is active in community service, hosting a week-long Vacation Bible School camp each summer, serving dinners monthly at a local soup kitchen as well as supporting local families in need with donations of food and clothing. Weekly worship service is held every Sunday at 10:15 a.m. All are welcome.
