-Think Shark Tank With An Irish Flavor-

ROSELAND, NJ -- Susan P. Ascher, Founder, President and CEO of SusanAscher.com, The Ascher Group and The Sphere of Excellence in Communication ™, was one of eight business women from the United States selected to be part of an elite group of entrepreneurs as an Ambassador with Leading Women Entrepreneurs International Retreat to The Emerald Isle.

The focus of this mission was Thought Leadership: Being the Best You Can Be.  Cork Foundation, headquartered in Ireland, created this networking event as part of their unique initiative that focuses on stimulating job creation and developing Cork as a pivotal location to start, locate and grow a business. During the morning session, 10 candidates out of 100 female entrepreneurs from the Cork region of Ireland were invited to present their business ideas to the American delegates who then, Shark Tank style, picked the winner. The panel included Susan P. Ascher, CEO of the Ascher Group, Linda Wellbrock, CEO, Leading Women Entrepreneurs, Karolina Dehnhard, Attorney at Law, Budd Larner, PC, Caroline Gosselin, The Gosselin Group/ Prominent Properties Sotheby’s Real Estate, Elizabeth Swinicki, CEO, Pravda Consulting, Alexandra Zetlin, CEO, Zetlin Strategies Communications, Terry Tateossian, CEO of Socialfix Media, and Tara Gilvar, CEO of B.I.G.

One home-based entrepreneur was selected to travel to New York in December where she will have the opportunity to meet with key individuals that can assist in the development of her company within the US market.  Dee O’Leary, president and founder of iDME was chosen to come to the United States.

iDME is Dee’s response to the hugely stressful scenario that involves children being separated from their caregivers without any form of identification. The wristbands provide contact details for immediate recovery, as well as profile a child's medical requirements. The next generation of Dee’s product will be chip technology designed for autistic children  and Alzheimer’s patients. Dee will represent Ireland as a winner at this year’s Leading Women Entrepreneurs event to be held at Fiddler’s Elbow Country Club in Bedminster Township on December 4, 2014.

Irish attendees included Executive Director Collette O’Connor and CEO Heather McGuire of The Cork Foundation, which is dedicated to supporting local enterprise and communities and driving job creation and developing Cork as the best region in Ireland to start, locate and grow a business. Also in attendance was Siobhan Finn, Project Director of Cork Innovates, whose mission is to bring together and educate Cork entrepreneurs and businesses.
