LIVINGSTON, NJ - The Livingston Municipal Court settled three cases for the week of Jan. 20-26.

Leonid Shtaygrad was charged with disorderly conduct, possession of drug paraphernalia, and being under the influence of controlled dangerous substances (CDS). The court could not prove that Shtaygrad was either under the influence or had possession of drugs. So, the latter two charges were dismissed.

Shtaygrad plead guilty to an amended charge of making a disturbance and was sentenced to pay a $100 fine and $33 in count cost fees.

Alvin Hayes of 81 East McClellan Ave. was charged with several building department violations, including having refuse and rubbish on his property, providing harborage for vermin, having stagnant water on his pool, and having a nuisance on the property.

All charges, save for the charge of stagnant water on the pool, were dismissed as part of a plea agreement. Hayes was sentenced to a $100 fine and $33 in court cost fees.

Michael Coyne of 12 Amherst Street was charged with DWI and careless driving. As part of a plea agreement, the careless driving charge was merged and dismissed into the DWI charge.

Coyne plead guilty to the offense and was sentenced to pay a $256 fine, a $33 court cost fee, a $200 DWI surcharge, $50 to the victim of crime compensation fund, and $75 to the State Neighborhood fund.

Coyne lost his license for three months and must also attend the intoxicated driver recourse center for 12 hours.
