Livingston Rotary Club Sponsors Pancake Breakfast to Benefit Police Department

LIVINGSTON, NJ - The smell of pancakes filled the room as eager patrons entered Margaritas Mexican Restaurant for a delicious self-served buffet held by the Livingston Sunrise Rotary Club Sunday morning.
The hard-working Rotarians woke up at the break of dawn to put the whole thing together as a way to give back to Livingston’s dedicated police force, as all proceeds from the event go to the purchase of safety equipment for the Livingston police force.
So who exactly are these dedicated and involving Rotarians? According to rotary.org, they are “Business and professional leaders who volunteer in their communities and promote world understanding and peace.”
Monte Ehrenkranz, the president of the Livingston Sunrise Rotary Club, said he was very pleased with the event.
Although many of the attendees came simply to show their support for the Rotary Club and police department, many also came for the lovely food. One young man exclaimed when his family left the restaurant, “They [pancakes] were really good.” The mother however, was a little more concerned with the syrup that left her son in bit of a sticky situation.
The Rotary club also held a 50-50 cash raffle, where one could purchase a ticket for $5 and be able to win 50 percent of the resulting pot, with the other 50 percent, along with the rest of the proceeds, going to the Livingston Police Department.
Several nearby businesses also helped out with the event. Haven Savings Bank, Finish Line Car Wash, Regal Bank, All State Insurance, and many more all sponsored the event by purchasing advertisement spaces on the place mats.
