LIVINGSTON – Seton Hall High School receiver, Andrew Herman rushed the football for 120 yards and three touchdowns to help lead the Seaton Hall Pirates past the Livingston Lancers, 42 - 0, Friday night.

With the loss the Lancers have now lost two games in a row and have fallen to 4 – 4 on the season.

Throughout the game Livingston struggled on both sides of the ball. Defensively, they gave up touchdowns on the Pirates first three offensive drives of the game, and offensively, Livingston had trouble finding holes in the Seton Hall defense, failing to put any points on the board.

Coach Barry Kostibos declined an interview following the loss. “There’s nothing to say,” said Kostibos.

Late in the second quarter Livingston had a chance to pull within 21.

With under a minute to play in the half, the Livingston offense marched their way from their own 15 yard line to the Seaton Hall 21 yard line. On third down, however, the Seton Hall defense sacked Livingston quarterback Matt Gibbon, forcing the Lancers back to the 32 yard line. On fourth down, a Gibbon pass failed to connect with its receiver, and the Pirates were allowed to take a 35 point lead into the second half of the game.

Early in the third quarter, a rushing touchdown by Connor Merklinger put the Pirates up 42 – 0 and all but completely sealed the victory for Seton Hall.

The Pirates also received touchdowns from Donald Stewart and Nasir Austin.

The Lancers conclude their regular season against West Orange High School at home, 7 p.m. on Friday, November 8.
