LIVINGSTON, NJ - Livingston lost, 1-0, on Saturday in the Essex County Tournament against Montclair.
“Although the team lost today, they still played fearlessly,” said Coach Paul Raiz.
Both teams started off the game by playing aggressively. The first half ended with a tied score, 0-0. The ball was mostly played toward the center of the field, with Livingston’s players attempting many shots, and Montclair’s goalie, Gabby Isola, making five saves.
During the second half, Montclair’s Kayla Jennings scored the first goal, with an assist from Jillian Jennings. While the ball was played mostly on Livingston’s side of the field, Livingston’s strong defenders kept the ball from entering the goal. In total, Livingston’s goalie Samantha Rothenberger made four saves.
“Overall, I am proud of my team,” Raiz said.
